The Birth of British Columbia

The early days of the Cariboo Gold Rush are on as hapless gold miners try to survive the dangers of bears,  cliffs, and horrible roadhouses. As thousands of Americans pour North, Hudson Bay Company’s James Douglas rushes to declare British rule to establish law and order.   Soon, Chief Justice Matthew Baillie Begbie helps reign in the chaos and survey the terrain for a travel route for the Cariboo Waggon Road,  with Royal Engineers on the scene to build it.

A hilarious romp featuring two musical directors of Barkerville’s Theatre Royal.
